Norman & Underwood is the largest and oldest UK manufacturer of traditional Sand Cast Lead sheet. We are considered by many to be the ultimate authority on the restoration of everything from rainwater goods through to major roof projects and have been entrusted to work on many of the most important historic buildings both in this country and internationally.
Norman & Underwood' s works embellish a whole range of buildings from the largest cathedrals in the country to corporate headquarters, theatres and even bus shelters. We not only cast and fix Sand Cast Lead sheet, but also supply and install Copper, Zinc, Stainless Steel, Aluminium and Milled Lead sheet on both restoration and new build projects. Norman & Underwood's Roofing Division also specialise in the manufacture and installation of ornamental rainwater goods, e.g. hoppers, downpipes, etc.
We have supplied and installed traditional Sand Cast Lead sheets to Salisbury Cathedral, Windsor Castle, Westminster Abbey, Hampton Court Palace, Chatsworth House and many of the major cathedrals, thousands of churches and numerous historical buildings throughout the UK. We also work in Copper, Zinc, Aluminium and Stainless Steel on both restoration and new build contracts.
The same levels of craftmanship are also applied to Stained Glass and Glazed Screening projects in chapels, churches and cathedrals throughout the country.
During our 180 years of trading we are very proud to say that our craftsmen still come across major roof works that were carried out by previous generations of Norman & Underwood's craftsmen. For example Westminster Abbey and Salisbury Cathedral still remain protected from the elements after hundreds of years of Norman & Underwood's craftsmanship.
