This contract consists of the refurbishment of 20 self-contained sheltered accommodation flats.

The work will be carried out in two phases with the first phase due to be completed by early September 2006.

Once the first phase has been finished the existing residents will move into the newly refurbished building to enable work to begin on the second phase.

The contract consists of the replacement of the existing glazed windows with straight facades with projecting bays.

The scope of the work includes:-

  • 22 projecting bay windows using Kawneer 601 F/L & TH
  • Approximately 40 hole-in-the-wall windows into punched openings
  • 3 link glazing areas with 1202 vertical screens and 1200 stalk system sloped atrium glazed roofs
  • Glazed screens/doors to the communal common room
  • All doors, with the exception of the main entrance were constructed of the thermally broken 605 series with electric strikes

The main entrance will be constructed using the 190 system.

This contract is still on-going and the images will be updated once Phase One is complete.
