Weathervane, St John the Evangelist Church

Work on the weathervane in our Leicester workshop

Some projects, though relatively small, are particularly interesting and satisfying. The rooster weathervane was in a very poor state of repair when we dismantled it. Taking it down was a little difficult as it stood three metres above the top of the Church’s narrow tower. It had originally been made in the 1880s.
Our craftsmen stripped the vane down, repaired or replaced the damaged parts and rebuilt it to match the original.
