Glass Processing

Operating from three separate sites in the East Midlands and Norfolk the Group is able to offer a wide range of glass processing facilities, including edgework treatment and decoration. All types of glass can be delivered by our specialist fleet of vehicles, as required.

Norman & Underwood Ltd.
Leicester, Leicestershire.  

Based at the Group's Headquarters the glass warehouse holds stocks of flat glass ranging from 2mm to 15mm in thickness, both clear and tinted, together with Low Emissivity glass and all types of patterned and horticultural glass. Mirrors can also be manufactured to a customer's own specification. In addition, as approved stockists the company is able to offer the full range of Northern Wired Fire Resisting glasses which can be supplied either in stock sizes or individually cut to size.

Corby, Northamptonshire.

The Corby division is housed in a purpose built 25,000 square feet unit. Which as well as having the standard glass processing facilities, has the ability and capacity to produce toughened glass from 3mm to 19mm in thickness and 2000mm x 3000mm in size to the highest quality utilising a sophisticated horizontal toughening furnace.

King's Lynn, Norfolk

A 3½ acre site in King's Lynn houses the 60,000 square feet manufacturing and distribution facility of Norman & Underwood (Eastern) Limited. The company is the Eastern Counties largest stockist of glass and carries many specialist lines including Reflective, Low Emissivity, Fire Resistant, Patterned and Silvered glasses. Two modern high capacity toughening plants operate 24 hours a day and can handle glass up to 19mm thick and up to 2080mm x 4500mm in size which is produced at the rate of one tonne per hour per plant.

Modern sealed unit double glazed units are manufactured at both our King's Lynn and Corby bases. If required, additional insulation can be achieved through gas filling. We offer comprehensive guarantees on lead units, Georgian units and lead and coloured designs.

The Group is also stockists of Dorma Fittings and can produce toughened entrance systems very speedily. Many fittings are available ex-stock.
