Restoring the fine plasterwork of this classical country house in Nottinghamshire required the traditional skills of Norman & Underwood’s craftsmen.
The hall was built in 1860 as a country retreat for a wealthy industrialist. Over the years, it has served as a private house, convalescent hospital and office premises, and is now the headquarters for Midlands Software Ltd.
The reinstatement of the traditional plasterwork in the foyer revealed a previously overboarded, detailed cornice that had to be repaired in situ. We also had to remove leaking coverings from the roof, of which no construction details were known, and replace them with zinc panels.

- reinstatement of original plasterwork
- removal and replacement of roof
- removal and rework of cement copping
