Glazing

Glazed façade incorporating three glass entrance vestibules, set back under a 5 metre deep soffit. Working with the Architect and Bovis, Norman & Underwood accomplished this by using 59 x 25.5mm thick toughened, heat-soaked, laminated glass panels of varying widths to create the dual facetted curve. The glass panels, each weighing up to 550kg, are retained in place at the top and bottom using nested steel angles.  The curved soffit is formed on a grid structure using approximately 200 insulated aluminium cladding panels, 3m x 0.8m in size.
