Glasshouse Yard, London

This former telephone exchange underwent a £1.8m conversion to create a contemporary, open plan office building. With its ‘glasshouse’ theme, glazing was one of the most important elements of the project.

The new curtain walling and doors were installed by Norman & Underwood’s Glazing division. The screens were within feet of a public road so the work had to be completed in a restricted working environment. The glass also had to be carefully cut to fit neatly around the existing concrete beams.

Scope of work

  • installation of 140m2 of Schuco FW60+SG curtain walling, including a curved screen
  • installation of Schuco ADS65 HD doors
