The original brief was for Norman & Underwood to carry out localised repairs to the existing lead roof. However, further investigation highlighted that there were significant failures in the lead, such as underside corrosion. This was found to be mainly due to poor ventilation. It was then decided to reform and relay the roof in its entirety to conform with today’s Lead Sheet Association guidelines.

Scope of Work:

  • To form new softwood timber structure with gapped boards.
  • Incorporate new ventilation details.
  • New code 8 Norman & Underwood sand cast lead laid in accordance with LSA guidelines to roof areas.
  • Gutter linings.
  • Associated flashings.
